Participate in Orange Shirt Day and National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Sept. 30

23 September, 2021

Each year on September 30, people across Canada wear orange and participate in Orange Shirt Day events to recognize and raise awareness about the history and legacies of the residential school system in Canada. This year, September 30 will also mark the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – an opportunity to recognize and commemorate the legacy of residential schools. All members of the UBC community are encouraged to honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, whether through personal reflection, education and awareness activities or by participating in events within your communities.
