The At-Risk Youth Study (ARYS – pronounced ‘Arise') began in 2005 at the British Columbia Centre on Substance Use to bridge these gaps. The study evaluates programs and services through data based on the lived experiences of street-involved youth who use substances. ARYS involves a dedicated team of interviewers, nurses, data analysts, and peer research associates. Nurse Research Associate Michelle Bridgeman plays a critical role in building trust with participants and providing much-needed care. We are celebrating #NationalNursingWeek by highlighting work by our Advancing Health researchers within nursing! Today features Aggie Black (UBC School of Nursing (Vancouver)) who is responsible for several knowledge translation initiatives at Providence Health Care including the PHC Practice-based Research Challenge. This year, Aggie received recognition for her visionary leadership in fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and spearheading groundbreaking programs aimed at enhancing both patient care and clinician well-being by the Canadian College of Health Leaders. https://lnkd.in/gbiaWTPm One of the programs Aggie helped create, Mend & Tend, provides nursing care to patients who drop into the Evelyne Saller Centre in Vancouver's downtown eastside. The program offers low-barrier health service which is easier for people to access. https://lnkd.in/du36sV7D Her passion for health extends beyond her day-to-day work to improve care.
