There is a number of road closures on the UBC Vancouver campus due to construction and events. Please review the details and plan your routes accordingly.
Wesbrook Mall Phase 3
The first and second phases of upgrades between Thunderbird Boulevard and Student Union Boulevard are complete. While work is well underway, Wesbrook Mall between Walter Gage Road and Chancellor Boulevard will remain fully closed to traffic until September 30. Detours will continue to be in place in the westbound lane on Chancellor Boulevard until the end of July.

University Boulevard West of Wesbrook Mall closed for utility work
University Boulevard Lot will remain open; however, access to underground residential parking for Focal and Access is maintained at all times via a detour through the Gateway construction site. Deliveries to commercial units in Focal and Central Building as well as the UBC Alumni Centre and War Memorial Gym are maintained via the detour as well.
During this closure, no trolley busses or vehicles will be entering the University Boulevard bus loop. Trolley buses will drop off passengers at Blanca bus loop, where passengers will transfer to a diesel bus to continue their way to the UBC Bus Exchange. To avoid having to change buses, passengers should consider taking a diesel bus if that is an option.
Thunderbird Boulevard closed for the Transportation Test Bed Project
The westbound lane of Thunderbird Boulevard will remain closed for the rest of the summer between the Thunderbird Parkade and Health Sciences Mall.
The eastbound lane will be closed every night from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm from East Mall to Wesbrook Mall. Single lane alternating traffic between the parkade and Wesbrook Mall will be in place. Please plan to arrive or leave the parkade before 3:00 pm to avoid delays.
Another eastbound lane closure is being planned for mid-July between East Mall and Thunderbird Parkade. More details to come.
Road closures for the Vancouver Half Marathon on Sunday, June 26
The annual Vancouver Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, June 26, which will result in a few road closures around UBC in the morning, including:
- East Mall
- 16th Avenue westbound from East Mall to Southwest Marine Drive
- Southwest and Northwest Marine Drive (fully closed)
