Call for Proposals: Digital Project Exhibitions at new Array()
new Array() is a pilot pop-up exhibition space dedicated to showcasing innovative digital scholarship and digital art by UBC students, faculty, and staff. Located in Koerner Library and accessible to both the University community and the broader public, this initiative will feature a rotating series of static (images) and mobile (video) works, displayed on an 80-inch monitor in a space with comfortable seating. Proposals from all disciplines are encouraged and submissions are accepted on a rolling basis.
The JET application for the 2025-2026 Cycle is now open!
The JET Programme offers a minimum one-year opportunity to experience Japan as an Assistant Language Teacher or Coordinator for International Relations through an official Government of Japan program. Participants gain valuable overseas work experience, learn about Japanese culture, and meet participants from around the world, while contributing to language education and international understanding. The deadline to apply for the 2026 JET Programme is November 14.
Call for Papers: Conference on Traditions of East Asian Typography
The Conference on Traditions of East Asian Typography—taking place at the University of Southern California on March 6, 2026—seeks to investigate the autochthonous traditions of movable type in East Asia before the arrival of Western letterpress and lithography in the late nineteenth century. Proposals must engage with East Asian contexts and typography prior to the twentieth century, although comparative chronological or geographic investigations are welcome. Please send your abstract to eastasiantypography@usc.edu by November 15.
Help Shape UBC’s Public Realm Through Art!
UBC Inspired (part of Campus + Community Planning) is pleased to launch the Student Art + Placemaking Fund, supporting student-led initiatives that reimagine UBC’s outdoor spaces through public art and placemaking. Receive up to $2,500 in funding for temporary projects such as art installations, performance pieces, or other creative activations in public outdoor areas across campus. Individual and group projects are eligible. Apply by November 25.
Applications Open: Young Scholars Visiting Scheme 2026
The Young Scholars Visiting Scheme 2026, organized by CUHK-CCK Foundation Asia-Pacific Centre for Chinese Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, is now open for application. This Scheme aims to support young scholars conducting research in Chinese Studies to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Participants are expected to spend one academic term in residence at CUHK, actively engaging in scholarly activities and fostering academic exchange with CUHK faculty and students in 2026. Submit applications by November 28.

The Centre for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) empowers students to drive social change through funding for meaningful projects in partnership with BC-based community organizations.
