Description: Supports research and student mobility between France and Canada.

Note: The FCRF requires that all universities pre-select a maximum of 5 proposals. To be considered for UBC’s internal selection, researchers must email their applications directly to the French Embassy in Ottawa (assistant.science@ambafrance-ca.org) and to UBC’s FCRF correspondent, Heather Frost (heather.frost@ubc.ca) by November 18, 2022. Applications should be submitted as a single PDF. UBC will conduct an internal pre-selection to to identify a maximum of 5 proposals to send to the Embassy for evaluation December 19th, 2023.

Science Meets Parliament NEW

The Canadian Science Policy Centre (CSPC) and the Office of the Chief Science Advisor (OCSA) are accepting applications for participation in the third round of Science Meets Parliament. This event will take place in Ottawa in spring 2023.

The objective of this initiative is to strengthen connections between Canada’s scientific and political communities, enable a two-way dialogue, and participate in policy development initiatives. Science Meets Parliament aims to help scientists become familiar with policy making at the political level, and for parliamentarians to explore using scientific evidence in policy making.

This program is open to Tier II Canada Research Chairs, Indigenous faculty members, and Banting Postdoctoral Fellows. The deadline to apply for this program is November 30th, 2022. To apply, click here.

UBC will be sponsoring Science Meets Parliament and providing travel support of up to $1,000 to successful candidates through the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation.
