Volunteer orientation takes place in-person on May 13 or online on May 14.

Lab2Market Validate Foundations is a three-day intensive virtual training program aimed at providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the process and best practices for research commercialization. The program is designed for individuals at the outset of their journeys seeking to commercialize their ideas. Submit applications by May 12.
Call for Applications: Venture Founder
Venture Founder is a 16-week program that supports UBC’s community of UBC students, faculty, staff and researchers who want to build transformative ventures based on their innovative solutions to critical (and often global) problems. The program offers experiential workshops, support from experienced mentors, and covers foundational and operational topics to establish a viable startup company. Applications close on May 16.
Call for Abstracts: Conference on Global Iranian Diaspora Studies
The Conference on Global Iranian Diaspora Studies will assemble scholars from various disciplines contributing to transnational and multidisciplinary Iranian Diaspora, with a particular interest in South-South relations across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Oceania. 10th Japanese Literature Publishing Project (JLPP) International Translation Competition
The Agency for Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan, is delighted to host the 10th JLPP International Translation Competition, aimed at discovering and fostering emerging translators of Japanese literature. In the 10th Competition, the target languages for the contemporary literature category are English and Spanish, while English is the target language for the classical literature category. Submissions are accepted between June 1 to June 30.
Apply for the 2025 Partnership Recognition and Exploration Fund
The Partnership Recognition and Exploration (PRE) Fund awards up to $1,500 to fill small resource gaps so community partners can build reciprocal relationships with UBC students, faculty and staff. Funding is available until December 31, or until all funds are exhausted. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and typically assessed within one week of submission.
