BC Brain Wellness Program In-Person Exercise Classes
In collaboration with UBC Bodyworks, we are offering in-person exercise classes at UBC. These classes focus on evidence-based, multimodal exercises taught by qualified instructors and supported by UBC Kinesiology students. Each class contains a mix of strength, balance, aerobic, and agility exercises with a focus on functional movements. This exercise program is designed for individuals with chronic neurological conditions; however, the classes are not condition-specific. Rather, the exercises have been selected with a variety of conditions in mind, and instructors can provide individual modifications. Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at various times and cost $10 each. Please note that to participate in these classes you must be able to:
  • Commute to the UBC Campus
  • Walk 50 metres with or without a gait aid
  • Stand for 15 minutes
  • Get on and off the floor

BCBWP Blog

Do you know that the BCBWP has a blog? Explore posts on a variety of subjects, including our recent one: "Advance Care Planning".

April 16th is Advance Care Planning Day in Canada

Advance Care Planning is a process of thinking about your values, beliefs, and wishes for future health and personal care and sharing them with the people you trust. It can include choosing who would make care decisions for you if you cannot.

Regardless of age or the presence of a health condition, advance care planning is for everyone. Read our blog for more information on how to get started on creating your advanced care plan.
