Call for Paper Submissions: Journal of Historical Studies (JHS)
If you have a paper demonstrating your argumentative ability or a novel historical angle, submit it to the UBC Journal of Historical Studies, the History Department’s student-run publication! Papers do not have to be written for the history department; any paper that involves history is welcome. The paper cannot have been previously published nor been submitted for consideration to another journal, and should have received a minimum grade of 85%. Independent research is also welcome. The submission deadline is October 5 at 11:59 PM.
Call for Paper Submissions: Michigan Journal of Asian Studies
The University of Michigan's Michigan Journal of Asian Studies (MJAS), an undergraduate-led journal that publishes peer-reviewed pieces relating to East, Central, South, Southeast, and West Asia, is looking for original research papers and creative works related to Asia. Undergraduate students, recent alumni and graduate students are welcome to submit pieces for review. Articles submitted to MJAS should not have previously been accepted for publication or review at another undergraduate or graduate-level publication. The submission deadline is October 7, 2024.
Applications Open: Jamaloddin Khanjani Family Scholarship
The Jamaloddin Khanjani Family Scholarship is a $4100 scholarship that has been made available through an endowment established by Farid Rohani in honor of Jamaloddin Khanjani, a successful businessman who, because he was Baha’i, lost his business after the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran. The scholarship is in honor of Mr. Khanjani’s commitment to and support of education and human rights. The scholarship will support a UBC graduate student whose studies focus on human rights and related aspects of public policy and global affairs. The deadline to apply is October 13 at 11:45 PM.
CCEL Social Impact Grants for Students – $1,500 to $10,000 of funding available per project
At the Centre for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL), we empower students to drive social change through funding for meaningful projects in partnership with BC-based community organizations. Our grants ($1,500 - $10,000) support students in co-designing and implementing impactful initiatives that directly address community needs. We encourage bold, creative ideas and support collaborations in tackling real-world issues. Dive in, explore new possibilities, and gain hands-on experience addressing societal challenges.
