Wear a pink shirt and join us on campus or virtually tomorrow in celebrating diversity, kindness and empathy on Pink Shirt Day. This year’s theme is Acts of Kindness.

  • Time: 2:00–3:00 p.m. & 7:00–8:00 p.m. 
  • On campus: Join us in person at the Life Sciences West Atrium at 2:00 p.m. or CIRS 1250 at 7:00 p.m. for a safely catered event

Parking change for Facilities' service vehicles for UBC Life Building and The Nest   

Please note the following parking changes for Facilities' service vehicles with construction on the sanitary line on the west side of UBC Life Building as of Monday, February 13: 

  • Service vehicles can now use the two newly created spots by
    the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre (see attached) 
  • Service vehicles can now park in the front of UBC Alumni Centre with a few restrictions: 
    • No parking for lunch or coffee. 
    • Parking might not be available when there are multiple events being held.
    • All service vehicles have to be registered at the front counter, providing approximate parking duration. You will receive a code to put into the parking meter.  
    • Orange and Yellow zone trades are familiar with registering their vehicles at the front counter.  

UBC Annual Screening Mammography Clinic on March 22, 2023

The Screening Mammography Program (SMP) Mobile Services will once again be visiting the UBC Point Grey Campus. BC women ages 40 and up with a primary care provider (doctor, nurse practitioner or naturopath) can book a screening mammogram directly through the program without a doctor’s referral.

  • When: Wednesday, March 22, 2023
  • How: By appointment by calling 1.800.663.9203
  • Where: Parking lot beside Technology Enterprise Facility (TEF 3) on the corner of Agronomy Road and Health Sciences Mall

  • Rosanna Ma has joined the Safety & Risk Services (SRS) Facilities team as the Facilities Health and Safety Associate, reporting to Lori Takenaka, Facilities Safety Advisor. Rosanna is situated in the University Services Building in Room 78, joining Paul Gill, Manager, Health and Safety Partnerships, Lori Takenaka and Guy Champagne, Facilities Health and Safety Associate. Over the next while, Rosanna will be brought to the various Facilities locations for introductions. Welcome to UBC Facilities, Rosanna!

Weekly Emergency Tip: 10-Step Family Emergency Plan

Have you ever wondered how to keep track of everything you do to prepare and respond to an earthquake or other disasters? An emergency plan is a great way to collect all of this information. Make sure to review and update it regularly.
