Children's Tumour Foundation: Young Investigator Award (YIA) NEW 
Description: provides two-year salary support to early career NF researchers, such as senior doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers, to help them get established as independent NF investigators.

American Association for Cancer Research-AstraZeneca: Career Development Award for Physician-Scientists, in Honor of Jose Baselga NEW 
Description: The intent of this program is to encourage and support early-career physician-scientists to conduct research and bolster the development of innovative targeted therapeutics. The proposed projects may be translational or clinical in nature and focused on all aspects of oncology.
Amount: $300,000 USD
Duration: 3 years

American Brain Tumor Association: Research Collaboration Grants NEW 
Description: seeks applications from a collaborative team of two faculty at different institutions, who propose multi-disciplinary, high-risk/high-impact projects with the potential to change current diagnostic or treatment paradigms for adult and pediatric brain tumor care.
Amount: up to $200,000
Duration: 2 years

UBC & SFU: Implementation Science Institute 
Description: The implementation science (IS) institute is a two-year training program targeted towards early to mid-career health researchers (from wide range of health-related topics and disciplines in psychology, urban planning, gerontology, biomedical engineering, health geography, health education and promotion, etc) who are interested in or embarking on projects that encompass the science of implementation.

American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Foundation: Rande H. Lazar Health Services Research Grant NEW 
Description: to support the gathering of socioeconomic data for otolaryngology. The award is intended to promote increased participation by otolaryngologists in the rapidly expanding area of health services research.
Amount: $10,000
Duration: 1 year

Ministry of Health & UBC Health: Research Seed Grant Program
Description: Funding offered to researchers from UBCV and UBCO to address specific research question identified by the Ministry of Health.

UBC Centre for Health Education Scholarship: Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) Canada & Clinical Educator Fellowship Program
Description: The MHPE is a two-year, part-time, internationally recognized, research degree program that is primarily distance-based with annual, three week courses that are delivered on-site. The Clinical Educator Fellowship Program is designed for those interested in developing an academic career as a Clinical Educator and boasts many education leaders as active alumni.

These awards honour individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to strengthening the BC clinical trials ecosystem. Award recipients exemplify excellence in leadership, advocacy for clinical trials, and outstanding service and support to advance clinical trials research and improve the health of people across British Columbia.

Killam Teaching Prizes 2024

UBC Killam Teaching Prizes are UBC’s most prestigious teaching awards. The UBC Killam Teaching Prizes recognize excellence in teaching in the medical and science undergraduate programs, residency programs, school and graduate programs within the Faculty of Medicine. King Faisal Prize in Medicine 2024

The King Faisal Prize (KFP) recognizes the outstanding works of individuals and institutions in five major categories: Service to Islam, Islamic Studies, Arabic Language and Literature, Medicine, and Science. Its aim is to benefit Muslims in their present and future, inspire them to participate in all aspects of civilization, as well as enrich human knowledge and develop mankind. KFP laureates are evaluated only based on merit and their works are meticulously examined by specialized selection committees. The strict selection procedure meets international standards, and many of the laureates who have been awarded the prize went on to receive other prestigious prizes, such as the Nobel Prize. | FoM internal nomination deadline: March 15, 2024
