Faculty of Medicine: VPRI Call for Faculty CRC Proposal for Persons with Disabilities
Description: The Faculty of Medicine can submit up to three proposals for this special call.  Proposals may either be framed for retention or recruitment, and must follow all CRC equity, diversity and inclusion recruitment guidelines, and be further guided by UBC’s equitable hiring practices.

UBC Research & Innovation: UBC Vancouver-Okanagan Collaborative Research Mobility Awards
Description: designed to support research collaboration across UBC in Vancouver and the Okanagan by providing funding to: 1) initiate new, or strengthen existing research collaborations; 2) enable travel to access unique infrastructure/core facilities at each location or to hold research meetings; 3) support travel, per diems, and accommodations for UBC researchers.
Amount: Up to $100,000
Duration: Up to 1 year

Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation: J. Edouard Samson Award NEW
Description: recognizes the best career orthopaedic research over a period of five (5) years or more at a Canadian centre.

Call for Nominations

NRC Killam Prize

The Killam Prizes are among Canada’s most distinguished research awards. They are awarded annually (by the National Research Council) to outstanding Canadian scholars in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, health sciences and engineering. Each Killam Prize is worth $100,000 and is awarded in the expectation that the scholars will continue to contribute to the Canadian research community. | Deadline: June 6, 2024

NRC Dorothy Killam Fellowships

The Dorothy Killam Fellowships support scholars who: 1) demonstrate commitment to building Canada’s future and alignment with Killam attributes (inclusive collaborator, barrier breaker, researcher leader); 2) are mid-career researchers (typically have completed their PhD no more than 15 years prior); 3) are employed at a Canadian research institution.

The Dorothy Killam Fellowships are valued at $80,000 CAD per year for a total of up to $160,000 for 2 years.| Deadline: June 13, 2024

UBC University Killam Professors

The UKP designation is the highest honour that the University can confer on a member of faculty. It recognizes exceptional members of faculty who are extraordinary teachers and researchers, who are leaders in their academic fields, and who have received national and international recognition. Canadian Medical Hall of Fame Laureate NEW

The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame laureate nominees are Canadian citizens who are role models for Canadians for their work in furthering health in Canada and the world or are nominated for an achievement developed significantly during a period of residency in Canada.
