Registration for Summer 2025
Mark your calendars! Registration for the Summer 2025 program will open on Monday, April 28 at 12:00 PM. Classes will run from May 5 to August 1. 

UBC Giving Day
Thank you to everyone who donated to the BC Brain Wellness Program through UBC Giving Day. We appreciate all your support. The final results will be revealed soon but we are so thrilled with the online response we received. Thank you again for participating and shining a light on the BCBWP.

Nitobe Memorial Garden Tour
Wednesday, April 16 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. This in-person event will take place at Nitobe Memorial Garden on the UBC Vancouver campus. 

Come join us for an in-person guided tour of the Nitobe Memorial Garden, one of the most authentic Japanese gardens outside of Japan. Carefully cultivated to provide year-round beauty, the garden is especially photogenic in the spring when colourful cherry blossoms brighten the tranquil pathways.

Parkinson's Disease Awareness Day
Wednesday, April 9 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This is a hybrid event taking place in-person at the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health and on Zoom. 

Join the Pacific Parkinson’s Research Centre and the Movement Disorders Clinic to celebrate Parkinson’s Awareness Month! This event will feature an educational talk on “Living Well with PD”, an in-person art workshop, resource booths, and a bake sale to raise funds to help members of the PD community.

Wellness Wednesday - The Strength of Community: Cultivating Well-Being Through Evidence and Connection
Wednesday May 14, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Zoom

Join us for a talk with Dr. Joanie Sims Gould and Dr. Joanna Pozzulo as they explore how engaging in activities with others can unlock new levels of well-being through the power of connection and community. Dr Sims Gould will discuss a physical activity and social connectedness program that has been implemented across BC. Dr. Pozzulo will examine the research related to reading in addition to the benefits of being part of a community.

VanDusen Garden Walking Tour & Picnic Lunch 
Friday, May 23, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM 

Join us for a VanDusen Garden field trip where our Gardening and Cooking instructor, Joanna Wilke, will guide you through the beautiful gardens. At noon, we will have a picnic lunch break by the Maze area, so please bring a packed lunch. After lunch, we will split into groups based on mobility and walking speed preference to tour the rest of the garden. The admission fee is waived by the generous support of the VanDusen Garden.

Dialogue on Aging Public Presentation Series - Cancer as an Older Adult: Preparing, Managing, Thriving 
Monday, May 5 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at BMO Great Hall, VanDusen Botanical Garden. Please note that virtual attendance will not be provided.

The Dialogue on Aging Public Presentation Series is hosted by the Edwin S.H. Leong Centre for Healthy Aging and Providence Health Care. On May 5th, 2025, they will partner with the UBC School of Nursing to host an in-person lecture featuring a panel on Geriatric Oncology.
