Healing Through Words - A Mini Collection

In collaboration with Heta Patel from "We The Art of Life", a mini collection of stories from our "Intergenerational Book Collaborative" project has been compiled to carry forward the wisdom of elders to younger readers. With hopes of bridging the gap between generations, this collection contains real stories from resilient individuals in the community. Together, they emphasize a vital life lesson: you are not what happens to you, but rather who you choose to become through the circumstances you face in life.

Community Events and Resources

Volunteer Opportunity: Ladybug Community Garden
Do you love gardening, eating fresh vegetables and contributing something positive? Over the growing season, the Ladybug Community Garden is looking for help every year to prepare beds, seed, harvest vegetables, and other garden tasks. We love to socialize, contribute to each other, and be outside. The garden has many pollinator friendly beds in addition to a large vegetable growing area. We’re looking for help, expertise, generous in spirit participants! The garden is located in East Vancovour (East 8th near Commercial Drive). If you are interested but making it outdoors isn’t feasible for you, it would be a wonderful contribution if you like to start vegetable seeds and produce ‘starts’ indoors.

If you are interested, please contact Christine Bickson at ladybuggardenvancouver@gmail.com.
