Call for Student Artistic and Creative Submissions: The Art + Memory + Justice Symposium
The 4th Annual Art + Memory + Justice Symposium is a student-led interactive space showcasing the creative work of those engaged in the fields of memory and justice. This year’s symposium invites student contributions around the theme of "Memory Across Borders". UBC students who have creative works related to the theme such as prose, sculptures, video, audio/music, poster, digital art, and or dance are welcome to submit their work and their 100-word rationale. Individual and group submissions are welcomed; submit by February 23.
Chinese Government Scholarship Program
The Chinese government offer scholarships to students from British Columbia to study at Chinese universities. It is a valuable opportunity to gain exposure to Chinese language, culture and business practices, and to develop enriching, life-long relationships. The scholarships are provided to graduating secondary school students and students enrolled in post-secondary studies in undergraduate, master's and doctoral degree programs at eligible post-secondary institutions. The application deadline is February 26.
Call for Abstracts and Reviewers: Grad Students and Postdoc Research Day
The UBC Language Sciences Institute will be hosting their annual Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Research Day on May 10, 2024 and is calling for submissions from graduate students or postdoctoral fellows from institutions across the Lower Mainland. They invite abstract submissions of scholarly work that relates to language in any way, from any disciplinary or transdisciplinary perspective. Research may be in progress, complete, or previously presented work. Submission deadline is on February 26.
Call for Papers: ASPAC 2024 Conference
The Organizing Committee of Asian Studies on the Pacific Coast (ASPAC) 2024 at University of Hawaii at Hilo invites scholars with an interest in Asian or Asian diaspora studies to submit proposals for the upcoming ASPAC Conference. Proposals connecting theory, method, or practice to contemporary or historical questions of urbanization, migration, exchange and sustainability within, across, or alongside Asia are especially welcome. Call for Participants: UBC Anthropology Honours Project on Outdoors Sportswear
A UBC Anthropology honours project is looking for research participants for a project on outdoors sportswear and Chinese/Chinese-Canadian identity. Anyone who has Chinese heritage, is 19-30 years old, wears outdoors sportswear (or gorpcore style) and lives in Vancouver (and/or the Lower Mainland) is eligible to participate. 2024 Taiwan Scholarship & Huayu Enrichment Scholarship
The Taiwan Scholarship Program was established by the Ministry of Education to encourage outstanding international students to undertake degree programs in Taiwan, this allows tuition coverage for a whole academic year for studies at any ROC University. The 2024 Huayu Enrichment Scholarship opportunity allows successful applicants to receive a monthly stipend of TWD 25,000 for up to 1 year. Both are open for applications until March 31.
