SPOTLIGHT STORY: APPLICATIONS Now OPEN FOR THE New FACULTY RESEARCH AWARD
The New Faculty Research Award is for faculty members in the first two years of their first faculty appointment as Assistant Professor (or higher), or Adjunct Professor in the UBC Faculty of Medicine as of the application deadline. This year, applications are accepted from Clinical Faculty members within four years of their first clinical faculty appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor or higher in the UBC Faculty of Medicine as of the application deadline. Previous awardees, and applicants who have received $200,000 or more in Start Up Funds from other sources are ineligible for this opportunity.
Up to $10,000 may be awarded. The funds may be used for research equipment, research supplies and/or research services (e.g., cost recovery payments to core equipment), and research support salaries (e.g., technical personnel).

Engage in reconcili-ACTION: host an Indigenous student this summer!
seed2STEM is a unique summer reserach program for Indigenous high school students created as a way to address underrepresentation of Indigenous people in STEM fields, and encourage Indigenous youth to consider STEM education and careers. The program offers paid 6-week internships with wraparound supports.
