Submit your comments as part of an external review of UBC IT

External reviews are conducted periodically to ensure that UBC’s Faculties and Administrative Units are supporting the university’s academic mission. In February, UBC Information Technology (UBC IT) is undergoing an external review as part of this process.

The external review allows the opportunity for students, faculty and staff to submit comments, and includes interviews with key stakeholders, conducted on site by visiting reviewers. You can access the terms of reference at https://academic.ubc.ca/sites/vpa.ubc.ca/files/documents/IT-External-Review-ToR.pdf.

The reviewers will visit UBC IT at UBC Vancouver on February 7-9, 2022. They are:
  • Gayleen Gray, Assistant Vice President IT and Chief Technology Officer, McMaster University
  • Dr. Lev Gonick, Chief Information Officer, Arizona State University
  • Jenn Stringer, Chief Information Officer & Associate Vice Chancellor IT, University of California, Berkeley
The reviewers will meet with a broad cross section of UBC IT collaborators: senior administrators, faculty members, staff, students, practitioners, government agencies, members of professional associations, and other appropriate individuals and groups that interact with UBC IT.

Faculty and staff are invited to provide written comments relevant to the matters under review to Dr. Herbert Rosengarten, the review coordinator, at hjr@exchange.ubc.ca, by February 3, 2022. Please include your name and affiliation to UBC.

Your comments will be held in strict confidence and will be forwarded to the reviewers. Their findings will be of value to the senior administration, the Chief Information Officer, and the university community as a whole.

Thank you in advance for engaging in this process.
