Have you completed your cybersecurity training?
The UBC Cybersecurity team has seen a significant uptick in spear-phishing attacks recently. Regardless of whether you work remotely or on campus, cybersecurity precautions have become more important now than ever. Visit the Privacy Matters website for tips on maintaining privacy & information security as a UBC staff.
Nearly every UBC faculty and staff member has access to Confidential Information, including personal information or payment card data. As the disclosure of this information could be very harmful, it’s important for you to know how to protect it.
A reminder to take the Privacy & Information Security – Fundamentals training — a mandatory requirement for faculty, staff, researchers, student employees and contractors who use UBC Electronic Information and Systems.

Shout out
Evan Conachey and Benjamin Scott, Electricians in Building Operations
Kudos to Evan and Ben from the Control Crews in Building Operations for coming to the rescue just before the holidays!
A bucket truck was having a hard time getting out of a snow and ice-filled parking spot near the First Nations Longhouse. Nick and Ben passed by and immediately lept into action. With their timely interventions, the truck was safely extricated from the grips of the snow and ice and made it back to the shop just in time for lunch. Thank you, Control Crew Snow Rescuers!
