Grade quickly and efficiently using Canvas tools
Thursday, February 9 | 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Participate in our workshop to learn how to use tools that will help you grade assignments and quizzes quickly and provide feedback effectively on Canvas, as well as how to automatically manage grades and review summaries of student progress in your courses.
Register for the graduate Instructional Skills Workshop
February 19, 25 & 26 | 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
This 3-day workshop consists of teaching practice, theory application, and topical sessions relevant to teaching assistants and graduate students at UBC. You will work closely with peers and trained facilitators in a supportive atmosphere where you can develop new teaching skills, enhance existing skills, and try new and challenging ideas.

Announcements
UBC’s new one-year retention policy for video recordings in Zoom and Microsoft Teams
Starting October 2023, UBC will begin removing video recordings from Zoom and Microsoft Teams automatically, one year after each video is recorded. If you want to keep your video recordings, you will need to move your content to either Kaltura, UBC’s enterprise video storage solution, or to Microsoft OneDrive.

Whether you’ve recently bought a computer, or are thinking about buying a new piece of hardware before fiscal year-end, get in touch with us. We can offer recommendations on certain equipment and can help you set up your laptops so that you are ready to work with ease.
Apply to the Students as Partners fund
From February 1–24, faculty can submit a proposal for up to $7,100 per project to further student-faculty partnerships in course redesign.
