Research Seminar Series: Are We Facing a Loneliness Epidemic, or Choosing Connection?
Thursday, February 12th, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM (on Zoom)

In the first Research Seminar Series of the year, Dr. Yeeun Archer Lee will present a series of studies on what is needed to improve human connection on multiple levels: An acts-of-kindness intervention to reduce loneliness at the individual level, neighborhood social cohesion as a resource for community resilience, and global trends in social support. Together, this talk discusses what it means to build more connected individuals and communities in an increasingly isolated world. Register below!

In-Person Workshop: Brushstrokes of BC
Friday, February 13th, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM (in-person)

Join professional artist Sabine Fedder for a relaxing, beginner-friendly in-person watercolour workshop focused on painting iconic BC landscapes, including mountains and ocean scenery. This session will explore colour theory, watercolour techniques and mixing, and how to create depth in a painting.

In-Person Workshop: Improv for Brain Health
Thursday, February 26th, 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM (in-person)

Join us for another in-person Improv for Brain Health workshop, where you will connect with others, exercise your brain, and share some laughs! Through fun games and exercises, participants will learn improv skills and explore how they can be applied to life and fostering wellness. No improv experience is required, everyone is welcome!

Join us on February 18, for Decoding the Brain: How Different Cells Contribute to Disease, a free, after-hours science event that brings you inside the world of modern neuroscience, without the textbooks or technical jargon. Taking place at The Forge in Gastown, this evening features short, engaging talks from DMCBH researchers who are studying the brain’s many cell types and how their breakdown contributes to neurological disease.

As you may know, our Brain-Power Kitchen class is a nutrition-focused cooking series which explores different dietary lifestyles and conditions through cooking, featuring new recipes every two weeks. Moving forward, we will highlight these in our newsletters to extend this resource to you.
