2023 Precision Health Symposium

DEADLINE EXTENDED: Abstract Submissions
There's still time to submit your abstracts on your research work related to precision health. Accepted abstracts will be presented and judged at the PH Symposium poster session for a chance to win one of three prizes:

  • 1st Prize: $500 
  • 2nd Prize: $250
  • 3rd Prize: $100

Abstract Submission Deadline: Extended to January 6, 2023

Event Details

Don't miss the first-ever Precision Health Symposium! This full-day, in-person event will include interactive presentations, breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and poster sessions.

When: February 2nd, 2023 | 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Where: The Great Hall, UBC AMS Student Nest (NEST). 

The PH symposium will highlight, and allow participants to benefit from, developments in precision health and promote various precision health areas. This event is a forum for faculty, clinicians, researchers, learners, and staff working on PH-related research, education, and applications to meet and exchange ideas.

PH Catalyst Grant Competition: Jan 16 Proposal Deadline

The PH Catalyst Grants aim to enable collaborative and innovative early-stage precision health research projects (foundational or clinical research) created with the intent to fuel a proposal for a larger-scale, longer-term project. 

Amount: Up to $50,000
Duration: 1 year
Eligibility: Junior faculty, see website below
Application Deadline: January 16, 2023

   Spotlight and Announcements   

 

Introducing Dr. Stuart Turvey as Co-Lead of UBC FoM Precision Health

We are delighted to announce Dr. Stuart Turvey will be joining Dr. Chris Carlsten as Co-Lead for UBC FoM PH. 

Dr. Turvey is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, a pediatric immunologist and researcher within BC Children's Hospital, and a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Pediatric Precision Health. 

Dr. Turvey and Dr. Carlsten will work together in providing leadership and guidance on the Faculty's efforts to enable collaboration and coordination of precision health activities at UBC in order to advance the Faculty's research strategy to catalyze innovation and excellence in foundational, clinical, and health systems to enhance precision and population health.
