Happy Spring from the Brain Wellness Program!
 

Spring Program Registration Now Open!


Registration for our spring programs is now open!

All classes are free of charge. You can see a list of all 26 class we have to offer by clicking here to visit our website. Simply click on the class that interests you to see which days/times it’s being offered and then click the “Register” button. There are capacity limits for each class, so register as soon as you can!
 
Classes start March 29!
 
Along with the classes we offered this winter, we’ve also added a few new ones to the spring schedule:
  • Balance and Strength 1
    • Instructor: Ailsa Sirois
    • A class designed to help improve balance and strength for those that typically require a walking aid or need to support to balance
      This class is designed to help you build strength and improve your balance. It is a full body workout with emphasis improving stability and posture. Dumbbells or other hand weights are encouraged but not required.
       
  • Balance and Strength 2
    • Instructor: Ailsa Sirois
    • More challenging than Step 1 class, designed for people that walk unsupported.
      This class is designed to help you build strength and improve your balance. It is a full body workout with emphasis improving stability and posture. Dumbbells or other hand weights are encouraged but not required.
       
  • Core and Stretch
    • Instructor: Meg Todd
    • A class focused on core strength and stretching. Exercises are on and off the floor. Must be able to get on and off the floor with ease.
       
  • Higher Intensity Chair Fit
    • Instructor: Meg Todd
    • Mainly seated exercise class with options to move to a standing position (with support if needed). Increased cardiovascular effort, combining arm/ leg movements, some dual tasking. Progressively moving to doing some exercises standing if able.

Classes are still being offered via Zoom, so once you register for one you will automatically receive a Zoom link. Remember to keep this somewhere handy, and click on it 5-10 minutes before the start of your scheduled class to make sure the instructors can get started on time.

Support the Brain Wellness Program on UBC Giving Day! 


On April 7, UBC will hold its first ever university-wide giving day. We are proud to announce that the BC Brain Wellness Program has been selected as one of three Faculty of Medicine programs that will be featured for the event. 
 
Driven by online engagement, this 24-hour giving challenge will bring donors, alumni, friends and the community together to support the UBC causes that matter most to them.

From removing financial barriers to offering unique learning experiences and supporting important community and research projects, there are many ways to support the BC Brain Wellness Program during Giving Day!
