Jimmy is currently the principal of West Consulting Services, a consulting firm in Vancouver. Assessing Spoken Interaction Workshop
On June 5 2019, Asian Studies sponsored a language teaching workshop on the Assessment of Spoken Interaction for all language instructors in the Department. In this workshop, Dr. Beverly Baker, a founding member of the Canadian Association of Language Assessment, discussed the research literature on formative and summative assessment activities in the language classroom. Participants also had a rare opportunity to review rubrics in order to make rubrics more useful, reliable, and efficient for their own teaching. The Department would like to thank Dr. Baker, as well as all the instructors from Asian Studies and other departments, who came out and helped make the workshop a success. Read more |
