- Neville Scarfe Building, Office Block: Flooring renovation on the 6/F
- Replace the carpet in eight office/admin spaces with hardwood floor.

- Add air conditioning, HEPA filtration, curtain and lighting for new faculty member
- Henry Angus Building: Installation of automatic door opener (ADO) in room HA161

- Buchanan Building Block C: Accessibility and washroom upgrades in Buchanan Complex

South Campus Warehouse clean up
A big thank you to Municipal Services' Streets & Operations Support crew for recently completing an amazing cleanup of the interior common spaces of the South Campus Warehouse!

Safe Driving on Campus
A reminder that UBC Facilities’ vehicles must be operated at all times in a safe and courteous manner and in accordance with all applicable bylaws, laws and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Driving at an appropriate speed with regard to road conditions and posted limit
- Obeying all traffic signs (i.e. stop signs, yield signs, pedestrian crossings)
- Using a high degree of caution around pedestrians on the UBC campus
- Obeying all UBC parking notices and restrictions — tickets will be the responsibility of the driver to pay
- Using a high degree of caution when backing up (i.e. walking around the vehicle before backing to check for obstacles, backing out of traffic rather than into traffic whenever possible, using a passenger to provide assistance whenever possible)
- Refraining from operating or parking vehicles on grass areas, landscaped areas, or pedestrian zones
- Wearing a seatbelt at all times
- Refraining from using any handheld electronic devices while driving as per section 30.07 of the motor vehicle act
- Refraining from smoking in any UBC vehicle
- Refraining from harsh braking, cornering, and accelerating

Ending self-isolation if you tested positive for COVID-1
Information on ending isolation if you tested positive and are managing your illness at home have been posted to the Safety & Risk Services website.
- Ending isolation if you are fully vaccinated*: If you tested positive and are managing your illness at home you can end isolation when all three of these conditions are met:
- At least 5 days have passed since your symptoms started, or from test date if you did not have symptoms.
- Fever has resolved without the use of fever-reducing medication, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
- Symptoms have improved.
- Ending isolation if you are not fully vaccinated*: If you are an adult who tested positive and you are not fully vaccinated and are managing your illness at home, you can end isolation when all three of these conditions are met:
- At least 10 days have passed since your symptoms started, or from the day you tested positive if you did not have symptoms.
- Fever has resolved without the use of fever-reducing medication, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
- Symptoms have improved.
*Fully vaccinated means you received both doses of a 2-dose series (e.g. AstraZeneca, Pfizer, or Moderna vaccine) or it has been more than 14 days since you received a single dose of a 1-dose series (e.g. Janssen/ Johnson and Johnson).

- Ingelbert Madera has been promoted to Evening Shift – Assistant Head Service Worker in Custodial Services.
- Jasbir Mann has been promoted to Head Utility Worker in Custodial Services, effective June 13.
- Jag Khella steps into new role as Tool Crib / Store Operator in Municipal Services today.
- Wende Kinch, Senior Manager, Fleet, Materials and Contracts from Municipal Services, is leaving UBC for an exciting opportunity in the private sector. Wende has led many of us through significant change as we adopted new policies, procedures and systems. She has shared her expertise through training and supported us through emergencies and COVID-19 with critical supplies.Wende will be missed! Her last day in the office will be July 12. Please stop by and wish Wende well.

Emergency tip: Do you know where your gas meter is located in case of an earthquake?
Make sure to keep a wrench close to your gas meter. This way you are always ready to shut off the gas in an emergency. Once the gas is off, do not turn it back on. Only a registered gas contractor can do that safely.
