Emergency tip: Do you know where your gas meter is located in case of an earthquake?

Make sure to keep a wrench close to your gas meter. This way you are always ready to shut off the gas in an emergency. Once the gas is off, do not turn it back on. Only a registered gas contractor can do that safely.

For more information on Natural Gas Safety, refer to Shake Out BC’s fact sheet.
