Call for Early Career Researchers to be Featured in Research Roundup and MedNet
We’re excited to launch a new series of researcher profiles to showcase the work of early career researchers affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine! If you know of any post-doctoral fellows or researchers at your lab who may want to be featured in Research Roundup and/or on MedNet through a short Q&A-style interview, please email us at medresearch.admin@ubc.ca.
The FoM Summer Student Research Program (SSRP) is now accepting applicaitons for the Summer 2025 period
The SSRP is a competition open to MD (Years 1 and 3) and non-MD undergraduate students registered at UBC. It provides funding for a summer research project supervised by a member of the Faculty of Medicine (FoM). Funding of up to $3200 is provided in the form of a student stipend; supervisors are responsible for all other expenses. For application eligibility, instructions, funding details, forms, dates, and frequently asked questions, please see the FoM SSRP website.
The deadline to submit student-supervisor applications is February 17, 2025 at 4:00pm PDT. If you have any questions, please email fom.ssrp@ubc.ca.
BIG25 Research Day: Register and Submit Abstracts Now!
BIG Research day is an annual tradition of the Bioinformatics, Interdisciplinary Oncology, and Genome Science + Technology graduate programs at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. Graduate students from all three programs gather to present their research as well as attend seminars and workshops by academic and industry professionals. Undergraduate students and students from other programs who are interested in this event are more than welcome to join. Abstracts are due February 15th, 2025 and we ask that this year’s abstracts be submitted separately from registration here.
