VPFO Update | The week of July 10, 2023

Updates from UBC

Updates from VPFO

  • Thanks again for joining us in the “We are the VPFO” team event on May 31: Team members had the opportunity to hear from our VP, Frank Laezza, connect with colleagues across the portfolio — and enter a raffle for lunch with Frank! Last week, on a sunny afternoon, Frank and the lucky winners met up and got to know each other better over lunch. We look forward to more opportunities to connect in the future!

Shout outs

  • Special thanks to the Facilities teams who responded to the large water intrusion in Buchanan A on June 29. Eight service workers worked together to extract the water from the space and install dehumidifiers and air movers. Kudos to the quick response by Building Operations' Plumbers to triage the ruptured coil repair over to the Building Operations Steamfitter.
  • Applying his extensive experience with Workday and Workday Reports, Nathan Miller, Report Developer has been able to identify problem areas and proposed innovative solutions to make processes and delivery better. Great work!

  • A big thank you to Tony Boyce and his team in Building Operations for the quick response and repair of the broken tarp roller at the UBC Tennis Centre. Their problem-solving enabled the tarps to be collected on schedule and ensured the Tennis Centre could resume operations on time.

Well done! Want to give someone a shout out in the next edition? Submit your kudos in your local recognition program or email communications@vpfo.ubc.ca
